Numerical Modeling of a Mixed Magnetic Core: Analyzing the Impact of Combined Electrical Steel Grades

Résumé

This paper presents the results of a finite-element method (FEM) simulations investigating the impact of mixing two different grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) grades on losses in a single-phase magnetic core. The behavior of the flux distribution in the mixed core has been analyzed. A thorough investigation was conducted utilizing both 2D and 3D FEM models of the core. Finally, results from the simulations are compared with laboratory tests.
