Detection of External Rotor PMSM Inter-Turn Short Circuit Fault using Extended Kalman Filter
Résumé
The presence of an inter-turn short circuit in electrical machines can lead to the complete shutdown of the system and cause disturbances in operation. In this paper, a diagnosis method for the detection of a stator inter-turn short circuit fault on an external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor is proposed. The detection approach is based on the Extended Kalman Filter, which continuously estimates the different quantities of the machine. The designed technique is based on a comparison of the estimated and measured stator currents. An analysis of the signals resulting from the comparison is used to detect and locate the fault. Simulation results are presented to validate the proposed fault detection and diagnosis approach.
